Vallejo Resident Apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Connection to Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident

Vallejo, UK – In a significant breakthrough, the U.S. Marshals Service apprehended Jovon Woodard, a 22-year-old Vallejo resident, on January 30, 2024. Woodard is the prime suspect in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on October 17, 2023, resulting in the tragic death of a 76-year-old Vallejo resident.

The incident unfolded when a Vallejo Police officer attempted to stop a red Ford Fusion for reckless driving in the area of Sonoma Boulevard and Carolina Street. However, the driver, later identified as Jovon Woodard, failed to yield and instead accelerated at a dangerously high speed, according to police reports.

The ensuing pursuit came to a devastating conclusion in the 300 block of Carolina Street. Woodard, still evading authorities, crashed the Fusion into parked cars, ultimately causing fatal injuries to the innocent elderly victim who happened to be standing nearby.

Following a thorough investigation, Vallejo Police Department Detectives identified Woodard as the prime suspect responsible for this heinous crime. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued, leading to his eventual apprehension by the U.S. Marshals Service on January 30, 2024.
