Investigation Underway in Felton, Delaware: Leon Reynolds Arrested for Murder of Wife Virginia Reynolds

Details of the Arrest

Posted on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, the Delaware State police have reported the arrest of 55-year-old Leon Reynolds, a resident of Felton, Delaware. He is charged with the murder of his wife, Virginia Reynolds, bringing a wave of shock and grief to their community.

A Dreadful Morning

On the morning of January 26, 2024, at around 6:21 a.m., state troopers rushed to a residential property on Andrews Lake Road following reports of an unresponsive woman. Upon their arrival, they discovered 55-year-old Virginia Reynolds, Leon’s wife, unresponsive and severely injured. The troopers immediately initiated life-saving measures until emergency medical services (EMS) took over.

Virginia was rushed to a nearby hospital, where despite best efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Given the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation.

Investigation Leads to Arrest

The detectives, through their meticulous investigative procedures, identified Leon Reynolds as the primary suspect. He was apprehended and transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with 1st Degree Murder, a felony. After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, Leon was remanded into custody at the Sussex Correctional Institution with a cash bond set at $1,000,000.
