Woman Arrested for Obstructing Murder Investigation in Downtown Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, ABC4 – A woman has been apprehended for allegedly obstructing a murder investigation after the discovery of a deceased man in Downtown Salt Lake City early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Gabriel Vigil, an 18-year-old young man. Tommi Gallegos, 23, has been booked into Salt Lake County Jail for impeding the investigation into Vigil’s untimely demise.

During their investigation, the police discovered evidence of gunfire damage to a nearby house, fence, and multiple parked cars. Detectives are currently probing the motive behind the shooting but have determined that several individuals allegedly connected to the incident were attending a birthday party at the location.
It has been revealed that the house where the incident took place was being rented through an online property rental company. According to the police, an argument escalated into a physical altercation, leading to the fatal shooting. Following the incident, party attendees, including witnesses, reportedly left before the authorities arrived.
Detectives believe that Gallegos purposely provided false statements to hinder, delay, or prevent the prosecution in this case. As a result, she is now detained at Salt Lake County Jail on one count of obstruction of justice.
